What are reverse graffiti adverts?

Reverse graffiti adverts are adverts that are created by pressure washing over a stencil. They can range in size and shape according to the design. Reverse graffiti adverts, or clean adverts, are usually used to promote a brand or direct people to a location. Clean adverts are temporary clean adverts as the areas will get dirty again due to people walking over the adverts, the weather and pollution.

Why are reverse graffiti adverts so popular?

Clean adverts are an excellent way of raising awareness of a brand, shop etc. locally. A reverse graffiti campaign is a low cost way of creating many adverts in a chosen area. A typical campaign will consist of around 20-100 adverts in a city, each placed in an area with high footfall, meaning your adverts will be seen many thousands of times every day.

Clean Adverts in Bristol – ECCO

For this campaign we were asked to place the reverse graffiti adverts to direct shoppers to the store after a new opening. We placed around 200 reverse graffiti adverts outside and leading up to the shop. The footprints were used to direct potential customers to the store. Using this method of clean pavement advertising passersby will follow the footprints out of curiosity alone. The clients were so happy with the results from this form of Eco friendly advertising that they asked us to carry out clean advertising at their other stores.

Parkinson’s UK

Parkinson’s UK wanted to raise awareness of the charity and spread the hashtag #inmyshoes . We were asked to place the clean adverts in Cardiff, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast and Edinburgh. Each city had over 30 adverts placed in the city centre and in high footfall areas. The campaign was also spread quickly through social media and was very successful.
